SUPER TROUT Advance KATCHI-IRO Nylon
KATCHI-IRO — Stealth That Outsmarts Even the Wiliest “Over-10-Inch” Stream Fish
Precision-Engineered for Stream Fishing
Designed exclusively for mountain streams, this updated model retains the iconic KATCHI-IRO color while refining the core-yarn structure for superior performance. Its optimized thread engineering preserves the delicate action of small lures and loads smoothly on narrow spools, delivering ideal suppleness and control.
Thanks to VARIVAS’s VA-G manufacturing method, the line maintains exceptional knot strength—allowing you to use a thinner diameter without sacrificing toughness.
Stealthy “Katchi Color” for Elite Presentation
The signature KATCHI Color, a traditional reddish-brown tone long used in fishermen’s nets, is faithfully reproduced in this nylon line. Its natural, subdued hue blends seamlessly into the stream environment, making it exceptionally hard for wary trout to detect—even trophy-class fish with sharp eyesight.
Origin of the color:
It was favored by samurai as a “victory color,” associated with the character katsu (meaning “to win”). Because the color was produced by pounding (kachi) the dye, it also came to be known as kachiiro. In addition, it resonates with the English word “catch,” making it an auspicious term for anglers as well.
Modern usage:
Although kacchi is no longer used as a dye, the term kacchi-iro remains as a color name—and as a name for fishing net colors—referring to hues in the dark brown to reddish-brown range.
