Birth of VARIVAS

The first World Record for Japanese, we were there…
1980
Morris Co., Ltd. (Now, VARIVAS Co., Ltd.), Japan, introduced VARIVAS brand fishing line, the first IGFA (International Game Fish Association) standard fishing line in Japan.
1984
Eizo Maruhashi became the first Japanese angler to win an IGFA record.  Using VARIVAS 16 lb. (#4) line he brought in a 78 lb. (35.4 kg) Giant Trevally.
